Partheni

In Partheni area there is the municipal airport of Leros. The area has a long history since antiquity. It is believed that in Partheni was the temple dedicated to Goddess Artemis (Diana). In the archaeological area of Partheni there are remains of a prehistoric residential area dating back to 3800B.C, while in recent years remains of another temple were discovered that was built during the Hellenistic period. In what regards swimming, you can enjoy the sea in Mplefouti and Agia Kioura beaches. At the later, except from the crystal clear waters you can also enjoy a visit in the homonymous Church that was painted by political prisoners during the Greek dictatorship.
