«Portolago – Φαντάσματα στο Αιγαίο»
At the 19th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival

The film “Portolago – Ghosts in the Aegean” is one of the Greek productions that participates in the official program of the 19th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival. The documentary guides us to an unknown city through which all of Europe’s modern history unfolds.
On a small island on the edge of the Aegean with only 7,500 inhabitants, the Italian conquerors decided during the interwar period to build an airstrip and a new city capable of housing 30,000 inhabitants.
Italians, Germans, English and Greeks are some of the 100,000 people who passed through the city of Portolago, leaving their mark.
